I was looking through my photo archives and found this old photo from April 2004 taken at the Chicago Children’s Museum. I captured it with my wife’s 4 megapixel Canon Powershot G2. (I did not buy my first serious DSLR until December 2004.)

Unfortunately, the image, as captured, did not convey the awe that I felt standing in front of that awesome rack of bones. There are a host of problems with the original image:
poor contrast
lots of distracting lights and a extension cord plugged into the floor in the foreground
