Short Bio
Lawrence (Larry) Jones is an international photographer and an emerging painter and printmaker. From 2005 to 2007 he traveled Europe photographing Spain, Italy, France, England, Scotland Amsterdam and around the Baltic Sea. He currently is living in Raleigh, NC.
He received his BA in Advertising from UNC Chapel Hill. While there he also completed coursework in photojournalism, drawing, design, and art history.
For the last 15 years, He has worked as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, copywriter, photographer and web designer.
In 2005 his wife's work took his family to England for a two-year assignment during which he was able to visit great art museums and photograph Europe.
His passion for fine art photography and drawing and painting was intensified after he joined the art department at TASIS England where he taught photography and art to gifted international students.
He also studied relief, intaglio, and lithographic printmaking at Southhill Park in Bracknell, England.
Returned to NC in 2007, he now has a fine arts studio in the Glenwood South area of Raleigh, NC, where he continues his work as a photographer, designer and artist.
He is currently teaching darkroom and digital photography at the City of Raleigh Sertoma Arts Center at Shelly Lake.
